There is nothing more beautiful than the refraction and distortion caused by moving water. Refraction causes light to bend when it passes from one substance into another, in this case from air to water. As a result of this, a drop of water acts as a lens. A moving water surface thus acts as a continuously altering lens presenting a complex spectacle of refracted and focused light, combined with a distorted view of the subjacent ground. Although all of us have seen this many times, it is impossible to imagine, hard to remember, and difficult to visualize. A never ending story, and a great source for beautiful photographs!
